about

Bill's samba arrangement of the Bach classic has often been a closer for our concerts. First appearing on the "Dancing Day" CD (2000), "Jesu" is recorded here as part of the 20th annual jazz communion (2011) at the church has served all that time in Clarks Summit, PA.

Jeff's mellow flugelhorn is just right for the chorale sections, over top of Bill's odd reharmonizations. Al and Mike have a worthy duel on soprano saxophones, with a dose of Beethoven on the last chorus.

Pure fun. A certain crowd pleaser. This one prompted a standing ovation. A video of this performance can be found at the end of our "Jazz Belongs In Church" DVD, available on www.presbybop.com.
