about

Bill thinks he wrote this tune in 1979, which makes it one of his first jazz compositions. It has never been recorded on a CD, but it did first appear at a recital after his graduation from Binghamton University in 1982. He was not a music major, so he was not granted a "legitimate" college recital. Nevertheless Al advocated for him and said, "Let the kid make some music."

This performance took place in February 2001, in a full concert hall at the same university. Scored for a nine piece "little big band," the tune survived the first twenty years of its life. Jeff Stockham still hates the weird arpeggio in the "A' section. Tom Whaley does some amazing stick work on this cut!
